Marutoku Web Entry System is a web-based application used by the salesman(dealers) of the company to manage the information of the customer and the product that they offer.
It includes daily wide range of products, like internet service, cellular plans, online data backup and more.
It is currently used by approximately 20,000 salesmen with 14,000 stores and over 35,000 records of customers over past 12 months.
The salesmen as of present, fills in the details of the customer at the time of public dealing using a web browser on a tablet/PC.
This whole process of registering the customer data was earlier maintained on paper which resulted in a cumbersome process of finding the correct data which was time consuming and inefficient.
For example, the new customer can have a duplicate data in the system when they bought an older contract since no unique ID was maintained.
Also, my team implemented a third party credit card payment system which resulted in cost reduction for the company because of instant verification.
Prior to the implementation of the credit card authentication the payment was being done through either a paper bill or a bank account transfer.
This was a time consuming process as the verification had to be done manually through bank authorities.
Currently, in the case of credit card payment the verification is being done instantly using the third party platform.
Usage of the system resulted in saving 32 million yen annually.
The system is built using PHP Silex framework and MySQL as the database. Future plans includes building a mobile/tablet app for the same.
